Abstract.
The article presents an overview from 2004 to 2024 of the main stages of the creation of telecommunications and information-computing systems in the Far East, aimed at solving urgent fundamental and applied scientific problems. The current situation, characterized by the active use of modern methods of machine learning, deep learning and artificial intelligence by scientists, is considered, and the need to modernize existing supercomputer centers for collective use is substantiated. The presented conclusions and proposals are important in the context of plans to develop segments of the national research computer network of the new generation and the network of supercomputer centers for collective use in the Far Eastern region.
